A successful and adaptable design out of which many forms evolve, trilobites are the single most diverse class of extinct organisms, persisting for 300 million years. The Trilobite painting is another result of filling and draining a body of water. It has two drain plugs, which when pulled, direct the flow of pigment across the surface.
